2018 PDL Open Tryout Announced

Scheduled for January 13th at the NYA Sports & Fitness Center

NEWTOWN, Conn. – AC Connecticut is pleased to announce its open tryout for the 2018 Premier Development League (PDL) season. The open tryout will be held on Saturday, January 13th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (Registration: 4:45 p.m.-5:15 p.m.) at the NYA Sports & Fitness Center in Newtown, Conn.

The NYA Sports & Fitness Center is located at 4 Primrose Street.

All trialists will be required to register and pay a $35 tryout fee. This fee will cover a AC Connecticut trial t-shirt as well as any supplemental training sessions. To register, please CLICK HERE. All players must pre-register. NO walk-ins will be allowed to participate.

AC Connecticut, Connecticut’s only PDL club, will play a 14-game schedule between the months of May-August. The PDL is the top supplier of talent for professional soccer in North America. AC Connecticut players have been called to participate in a New England Revolution reserve team match and others have signed professional contracts after their time with the club.

As a major developmental platform, the PDL currently has 12 franchises owned and operated by an MLS or USL club, or holding a partnership with an MLS or USL club.

The top U23 men’s league in North America, the PDL is the destination league for college-aged players to continue their development toward the professional ranks with clubs from across North America not only competing for a championship each summer, but also providing the opportunity for top-level competition for the best players in the college ranks. In addition to league play, PDL teams compete in various exhibitions as well as the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The PDL has proven to be an important stepping-stone for top professionals now playing throughout the world.
