Charlottesville Blues FC to join USL League Two and USL W League in 2024

Exciting pre-professional soccer is coming to Charlottesville next summer!

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The USL is set to establish a distinguished presence in Charlottesville, Virginia, unveiling Charlottesville Blues FC as the newest member of USL League Two and USL W League. This initiative seeks to create an elite soccer platform for both men and women aspiring to elevate their professional soccer careers.

The inaugural season kicks off in May 2024, with tryouts for each team beginning in December 2023. If interested in tryouts, please visit the Charlottesville Blues FC Tryouts web page.

Charlottesville Blues FC brings together a seasoned ownership team comprised of Brian Kuk, Brian Krow, John Kuk, and Jim Kupec, each possessing extensive experience in their respective fields of soccer, media production, financial services, sports sales and collectively, entrepreneurial leadership.

“Charlottesville’s rich collegiate sports history has nurtured a community teeming with enthusiasm and participation. We extend an invitation to everyone to join us in this inspiring journey,” expressed co-owner Brian Kuk.

This is another positive step in growing women's soccer and empowering players to reach new heights,” commented Steve Swanson, University of Virginia, Women’s Soccer Head Coach.

George Gelnovatch, University of Virginia, Men's Soccer Head Coach, also supports the USL initiative, "Charlottesville is a soccer city. The tremendous passion for soccer in our community is second to none, and the Charlottesville Blues FC USL League 2 team will provide new opportunities to enjoy the beautiful game."

Brian Krow, another co-owner of Charlottesville Blues FC, emphasized the club’s community-centric approach, “We are Community First. Our club is a living testament to the city's vibrant spirit, and we welcome everyone to be part of our Blues family.”
