Movement all over the Power Rankings, but the playoff picture becomes sharper as we move closer to the end of the season. Manhattan SC makes one of the largest jumps all year, thanks to a strong win over last edition's No. 1 team. Where's your favorite team sitting?

1 | ![]() North Carolina Fusion U23 |
![]() Last Week: 4 |
7-0-1 Week 8: vs. Charlotte Independence 2 vs. Charlotte Independence 2 |
The preseason number one is back on top. They ran into a bit of a hiccup when they drew 2-2 with North Carolina FC U-23, but they’re on another four-match winning streak that’ll be put to the test Tuesday, in their first of two home matches against Charlotte Independence 2. Independence almost worked a draw on June 11, but a last-second goal from Jamie Davis saw Fusion get all three points. They’re averaging 3.75 goals over their last four games, and are allowing just 1.25 |
2 | ![]() Des Moines Menace |
![]() Last Week: 5 |
6-0-1 Week 8: @ Peoria City vs. FC Manitoba |
They faced a slight hiccup against Manitoba, in the second leg of their Canadian tour, but the Menace are back on track. Two consecutive three-goal wins against Minneapolis City SC and St. Croix SC have them rolling in a great position for the rest of the year. They’ve got one match away against Peoria City, then their last four matches are all at Valley Stadium as they look toward the playoffs. |
3 | ![]() Seacoast United Phantoms |
![]() Last Week: 2 |
7-0-1 Week 8: @ Pathfinder FC |
A draw away at Black Rock SC doesn’t hold up Seacoast United Phantoms’ placement here, as they’re already on another three-match winning streak. They’ll have a big test July 1, when they go away to play Western Mass Pioneers in a six-point match for the top of the Northeast division. They’ve started scoring more since that draw, averaging 3.33 goals over their last three matches. |
4 | ![]() Ocean City Nor’Easters |
![]() Last Week: 12 |
7-0-1 Week 8: vs. Reading United AC |
Ocean City Nor’Easters started their season with a draw against Real Central New Jersey, and haven’t dropped points since. They’re riding a seven-match winning streak as they prepare to host Reading United AC in their storied rivalry. Nor’Easters got the win on Friday to clinch the season series between the teams, and will be going for the sweep this coming Friday. |
5 | ![]() Asheville City SC |
![]() Last Week: 3 |
7-0-2 Week 8: vs. One Knoxville SC vs. Tri-Cities Otters |
Asheville City SC is closing in on the end of their season, and going 2-0-1 in the span of six days is a great help to their playoff push. Four of their final five games are at home, including a date on Tuesday with One Knoxville SC in a critical matchup for the top of the South Central division. We’re at a critical point in the campaign, and Asheville City can put themselves in prime position for the top of the group heading into playoffs. |
6 | ![]() Lionsbridge FC |
![]() Last Week: 8 |
6-0-2 Week 8: @ Christos FC |
A draw against Northern Virginia hampers Lionsbridge a bit, but they conceded at 90’+4 and got the goal back at 90’+8 to grab the draw. When the margins are that thin, it’s acceptable given their previous five wins. A rematch away at Christos awaits them – likely the most important match of their whole season after drawing the first contest. |

6-1-0 Week 8: @ FA Euro New York |
It’s time to give Manhattan their flowers after dethroning Long Island Rough Riders away from home. They won four consecutive matches in eight days, including a barn burner with Hudson Valley Hammers to split the season series and taking down the only team that hadn’t dropped points yet this season. Manhattan is on a tear – they’ll have to repeat the feat on July 6 when they welcome Long Island to Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. | 8 | ![]() Long Island Rough Riders |
![]() Last Week: 1 |
6-1-0 Week 8: @ Westchester Flames @ Jersey Copa FC |
The final perfect record team to fall, the attack stopped coming so easily to them for just 90 minutes. Matthew Vowinkel continued to show his ability in front of goal and pounded Manhattan’s Alexander Sutton in goal, but Sutton’s eight saves preserved the clean sheet and facilitated the upset. Long Island followed the loss up with a 3-2 win over FC Motown STA, kick starting a six-match road trip that will finish with a July 6 meeting with Manhattan SC. | 9 | ![]() AFC Ann Arbor |
![]() Last Week: 11 |
5-1-1 Week 8: @ Oakland County FC @ Kalamazoo FC |
AFC Ann Arbor worked a draw against Flint City Bucks (4-0-2) after Shion Soga’s 90th minute goal to preserve Ann Arbor’s strong record, and it sets them up to hold onto one of those Great Lakes playoff spots as the season winds down. As Kalamazoo FC falters in the middle third of the schedule, another two showdowns between AFC Ann Arbor and Flint City Bucks may decide the fate of the division. |
10 | ![]() Nona FC |
![]() Last Week: 22 |
8-1-1 Week 8: @ Miami AC vs. Florida Elita SA |
Nona’s regular season will be over in just under three weeks, and what a season it’s been. The 8-1-1 squad has torn through Florida, but they still face two significant home tests in Florida Elite Soccer Academy on June 25 and The Villages SC on their final day. They’re in a great position to continue onto the playoffs – just can’t slow up now. |
