HUDSON VALLEY, N.Y. - The United Soccer League (USL) today announced the Hudson Valley Hammers as the latest club to join USL League Two. The New York-based club will compete in League Two’s Metropolitan Division during the 2022 season.

“The Hudson Valley Hammers are dedicated to the growth of soccer at the grassroots level in the Hudson Valley area,” said Ray Bramall, General Manager of the Hudson Valley Hammers. “Competing in USL League Two will provide the Hammers with the opportunity to introduce young players to the beautiful game by granting access to and promoting awareness of a higher standard of play.”

Based in New York, the Hudson Valley Hammers is an initiative led by RB Leipzig midfielder and United States Men’s National Team standout Tyler Adams. The club was founded with the mission of providing Mid-Hudson Valley and its surrounding areas an affordable and enjoyable environment for families in a professional setting while offering players the opportunity to continue to cultivate their talent in a competitive training environment. The club prides itself on its commitment to long-term development, offering all players an equal opportunity to become members of the Hudson Valley Hammers regardless of race, creed, color, national origin or financial means.

“The objective of the Hudson Valley Hammers is to provide the mid-Hudson Valley area with an affordable and enjoyable environment for families in a professional setting while providing a proven pathway for players with professional aspirations to follow,” said Jay Anthony, Hudson Valley Hammers Director of Business Operations.

Through the club’s focus on holistic player development, the Hudson Valley Hammers cultivate a training culture that weaves technical, tactical, physical and psychological training into its robust soccer curriculum. The club dedicates its time and efforts to finding the best opportunities for its players to pursue continued careers in soccer while providing avenues for them to reach their professional aspirations.

"We are looking forward to this challenge for our young club,” said Darryl Sullivan, Hudson Valley Hammers Sporting Director. “We know the USL strives to get better every year and this is what we are trying to do in the Hudson Valley."

In joining League Two, the Hudson Valley Hammers will offer a proven pathway to professional soccer to its players, both at the elite collegiate level and the top academy-age players in the greater Hudson Valley region. On top of the valuable experience of playing in the nation’s most competitive pre-professional environment, League Two also provides growth opportunities for its coaches, executives and communities.

“We are thrilled to announce the addition of the Hudson Valley Hammers to USL League Two,” said Joel Nash, USL Vice President of Youth & Pre-Professional. “The Hammers’ leadership team has expressed a strong desire to create programming that provides its players the best opportunities to advance their game. Here at the League, we hope to do the same by creating an environment in which players can thrive and reach that next level of their game.”
